  1. Paid Registration, Documents Uploading, and Branch Preference Selection

    • The registration process includes:
      • Selection of branch preferences
      • Uploading documents
      • Entrance exam scorecard – only for JEE (Main) / Any State Govt. Engg. Entrance Exam candidates
      • Category certificate – only for SC/ST/DA/KM candidates
    • Candidates have to click the submit button after uploading documents in the registration portal. Candidates failing to do so will not be included in the merit list (branch allocation).
  2. Merit Listing (Branch Allocation)

    • Branches will be allocated based on entrance examination scores, branch preferences, and availability of seats.
    • Emails will be sent to merit-listed candidates with links to download the offer letter and pay the first installment of academic fees within 5 days of receiving the offer letter email.

  4. Documents Verification

    • Entrance scorecards will be verified only for JEE (Main) / Any State Govt. Engg. Entrance Exam fees paid candidates, to check the scores mentioned during registration.
    • Category certificates will be verified for applicable candidates.
    • If any discrepancy is found while verifying the documents, the concerned candidate’s application will be removed from the current merit list and considered in the next merit list. In such cases, a separate communication will be made to the candidates.
  5. Waitlist / Branch Change (if required)

    Branch change option is available to candidates after payment of the first installment of fees. Candidates who do not pay the first installment of fees within five days of receiving the offer letter will be automatically waitlisted in their higher preferred branches in the subsequent merit lists.

  6. Hostel Allocation

    After fee payment, interested candidates can register for hostel allotment.

  • The entrance test registration fee is INR 2250/- per test - SITEEE/SET/SLAT.
  • The entrance test registration fee for SITEEE is INR 2250/- per test. (Non-refundable and non-transferable).
  • The institute registration fee for admission to SIT Pune is INR 1000/-
  • SITEEE registration fee and programme(s) registration fee of the institute(s) are non-refundable and non-transferable.
    Note: Both registrations (entrance test + institute) are compulsory for admissions to B.Tech. first-year programs at SIT Pune.

4. International Admission: Candidates can apply under the international category. Admission of international students is done via Symbiosis Centre of International Education (SCIE).

However, there is no need to pay registration fees for JEE (Main) / Any State Government Engineering Entrance Examination if the candidate has already paid for SITEEE registration. Yes, migrations are allowed at SIT as per SIU rules. Please send an email to lateraladmissions@sitpune.edu.in with the details of subjects studied, marks secured, name of the institute, and affiliating University. Migration will be possible if the previous institute's subjects match with those at SIT.

Yes, please upload soft copies (readable) of the original documents in the online documents uploading portal using the registration login details.

If the percentage in the defined subjects is less than 45% for General candidates and below 40% for Reserved candidates, admission is not possible at SIT.

Registered candidates will be able to select their order of branch preferences during the online documents uploading process. Branch seats will be allocated based on merit and seat availability. In case any candidate does not get the branch of his/her choice and does not pay for the current allotted seat, he/she will be automatically added to the waiting list of his/her higher branch preference. Candidates will be notified as and when the respective waiting list gets updated. This will be done for all admission rounds (SITEEE/ JEE(Main)/ Any State Government Engineering Entrance Examination).

The candidate can apply (online) for branch change after fees payment for the currently allocated branch.

Confirmed seat can be cancelled only by submitting an online cancellation request in the student module of the admission portal. Login with your SETID and Password. Fill the required admission information and then apply for cancellation. Link to be updated.

Students need to purchase books and stationery on their own. A bookseller will be arranged by the institute on campus. Students are advised to utilize the institute’s well-equipped library and online resources for all relevant books, journals, periodicals, etc.

The institute will arrange uniforms for all students. Uniform is compulsory for all students on specific weekdays.

  13. What’s the difference between Foreign Nationals and NRI?
  14. Foreign nationals are the ones who are a holder of the non-Indian passport. Whereas NRI is Indian passport holders. NRI and Foreign Nationals are both subsets of International Students.
