Master of Technology (Engineering Design)

M.Tech (By Research)

Overview

Master of Technology (Engineering Design) is a postgraduate degree that emphasises independent study over taught instruction. It isn’t restricted to specific subject areas of engineering but focuses on multidisciplinary research. These programmes are ideal if the main goal of the candidate is to acquire research training. This may serve as a starting point of the PhD. Alternatively, people from Industry may study this programme because they don’t want to do a PhD. Many professions value research skills, but a full three-year PhD may not be necessary. Master of Technology (Engineering Design) offers a shorter, more focussed, route to multidisciplinary research training.

NEP 2020 has put tremendous stress on the development of multidisciplinary research and learning ecosystem. In line with this, Master of Technology (Engineering Design) programme is launched by Symbiosis International University at Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune, India year 2021-22. It focuses primarily on research and innovation. The course structure is designed to develop the research ethics, integrity, presentation skills, writing and research aptitude. The ultimate aim of this programme to develop the research aptitude amongst the candidates and uplift the academic qualifications of industry personnel.
