The Department of Mechanical Engineering cultivates such strong professionals by carrying out basic and applied research in developing areas by building strong industry-institute relationships and recruiting highly trained and qualified faculty. The faculty in this department is equally engaged in research and publications and can effectively teach CAD CAM, FEM, Manufacturing Technology and more. We also have a well- equipped workshop and labs that include state of the art CNC machines and robots supported by the latest software.
To add more understanding and knowledge amongst our students, we constantly organize guest lectures, industry visits, and industrial projects. Furthermore, our students are required to do a six-month internship to gain hands-on practical experience. Several of our students even receive PPOs from the companies they intern with.
Besides a modern curriculum and industry exposure, our students also gain global exposure by being part of our student exchange program. Students can choose to spend one semester studying with one of the various universities we have partnered with such as Leibniz University Hannover, Germany, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Ingolstadt Germany, Purdue School of Engineering & Technology and several others. The reason we stress the importance of being a part of this program is: that our students gain international exposure, a global outlook, and job opportunities in international countries.
As an institute, it’s our responsibility to do more than just provide classroom education. Individuals in their developmental years need to grow personally as well. Since they spend so much time on campus with us, we have implemented a Mentor-Mentee program. The mentors are responsible to work closely with his or her mentee and be their support and provide them with comfort when needed. The mentor does this by understanding the needs, nature, ambition, strengths and weaknesses of his or her mentee.
Moreover, we also encourage our students to actively participate in various leisure activities. We organize various activities year-round that consists of technical, sports and cultural events. Students participating in these events won’t just be having fun, they will also learn to organize big scale events without losing focus on their academics. We also ask our students to be a part of the various clubs and societies; we have in places such as the Google Club, Civil Engineering Society, Entrepreneurship Promotion, Innovation Cell and more.
The efforts we put into designing an up-to-date curriculum, providing students with domestic and international industry exposure, and organize multiple extra-curricular activities shows in our placement results. Our students are sought after by fortune 500 companies, IT companies, and fast-growing startups such as Rakuten (Japan), Amazon, GOOGLE India, Microsoft, L&T Infotech and more. All the hard work of our students has resulted in 94% placement in the previous years.
