1.What are the ways through which I can secure admission for First Year BTech, 2020?

a) SITEEE: - Candidates have to first register (http://www.set-test.org/) and then appear for SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SITEEE).

b) JEE (Main): - Candidate can register for SIT First Year admission based on their 2020 JEE (Mains) score on the following link: https://www.sitpune.edu.in/first-year-admission-registration

c) Any State Government Engineering Entrance Examination: - Candidate can register for SIT First Year admission based on their 2020 State Government Engineering Entrance Examination score on the following link: https://www.sitpune.edu.in/first-year-admission-registration


International Admission:-Candidates can apply under international category.
Admission of international students is done via Symbiosis Centre of International Education (http://scie.ac.in/)

2. Can I apply for the online admission round without registering for the First Year admissions?

Registration is a compulsory step for First Year 2020 admissions. Without registration, candidates will not be considered for the admission process.

3. Is separate registration required for SITEEE and JEE (Mains) / State Govt. Engg. Entrance Exams?

If a candidate has done registration via SITEEE, and wishes to register for JEE(Mains)/ Any State Government Engineering Entrance Examination based admissions also, then it's mandatory to do a separate registration via JEE(Mains)/ Any State Government Engineering Entrance Examination registration link. There is no need to do a payment of 750/- as he/she has already paid institute registration fees via SITEEE.

4. What is the cut-off for SITEEE entrance exam?

There is no cut off for the SITEEE entrance exam.

5. What are the dates of admission rounds?

The dates of the admission rounds are as follows -
SITEEE Admission Rounds:
For SC/ST/DA/KM Candidates: 30th July, 2020
For General/Open Candidates: 3rd August, 2020


MHT CET and Other State Government Engineering Entrance Examination Score Based Admission Rounds:
For SC/ST/DA/KM Candidates: 10th Aug, 2020
For General/Open Candidates: 11th Aug, 2020
Admission dates are subject to declaration of the entrance exam results.


JEE(Mains) Score Based Admission Rounds:
For SC/ST/DA/KM Candidates: 5th August, 2020
For General/Open Candidates: 11th August, 2020
Admission dates are subject to declaration of the entrance exam results.


6.Should I pay the fees at the time of admission rounds?

Academic fees: After seat allotment, candidates need to pay Rs. 1,50,000/- (1st instalment of academic fees + institute deposit (refundable)) online via Billdesk option.

Hostel fees: After payment of the academic fees mentioned above, hostel allocation will be available to admitted candidates. Hostel fees will also be paid via Billdesk option.

Hostel fees to be paid during admission rounds is Rs. 97,000/- (1st installment of Hostel & Mess Fees + hostel deposit (refundable))

Candidates are advised to keep sufficient online banking transaction limits and balance required for this online fees payment in the stipulated time period.

7.Is the admission round Online?

Yes, the admission rounds will be conducted online.

9.If my ward is studying in B.Tech. first year and wants to take admission in second year at SIT, what is the procedure?

Yes, migrations are allowed at SIT as per SIU rules. Please send an email to lateraladmissions@sitpune.edu.in with the details of subjects studied, marks secured, name of the institute and affiliating University. Migration will be possible if the previous institute's subjects match with those at SIT.

10.If the originals are submitted at another institute, where admission is already confirmed, then in that case, with the truly attested copies, can the admission be confirmed at SIT?

Yes, please upload soft copies (readable) of the original documents in the online documents uploading portal using the registration login details.

11.If the PCM aggregate in 12th standard is less than 45%, but the competitive exam score is quite good, what are the chances for admission in that case?

If the percentage in the defined subjects is less than 45% for General candidates and below 40% for Reserved candidates, admission is not possible at SIT.

12.In case I do not get the branch of our choice, how do I apply for the waiting list of the preferred branch?

Registered candidates will be able to select their order of branch preferences during online documents uploading process. Branch seats will be allocated based on merit and seat availability. In case any candidate does not get the branch of his/her choice and does not pay for the current allotted seat, he/she will be automatically added to the waiting list of his/her higher branch preference. Candidate will be notified as and when the respective waiting list gets updated. This will be done for all admission rounds (SITEEE / JEE / MHT CET / Other State Engg. Entrance Examination).
In case any registered candidate misses the first admission round due to any reason, he/she can apply in the second admission round.
Branch Change: The candidate can apply (online) for branch change after fees payment for the current allocated branch online.

13.How much money is refunded if I cancel the admission?

Please note that the last date of admission is 16th September, 2020.

14.What is the syllabus of the symbiosis entrance test for engineering? 

CBSE Plus 1 and 2 [ Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry] syllabus.

15.Which documents do I need to upload for the online admissions?

Following documents are to be uploaded -

E-marksheet of 12 std. results may be uploaded when available on the respective examination board website.
However, minimum PCM % (45% for General and 40% for Reserved category candidates) is a mandatory eligibility requirement for admissions.
Eligibility of all admitted candidates will be checked after the declaration of 12th standard results.

1. Can the seat be cancelled on telephone or does the candidate have to come  personally?

Confirmed seat cannot be cancelled on telephone or email or by personally submitting cancellation request. Please refer Admission Cancellation FAQs tab.

1.Which streams(branches)are available in SIT? Intake of different streams?

Civil Engineering batch-60 seats

Computer Science Engineering batch-180 seats

Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering batch-120 seats

Information Technology batch-60 seats

1. Is the hostel available for all first year students?

Yes, the hostel facility will be available for all the first year B.Tech students taking admissions in 2020.

2.If the admission is confirmed on the date of admission round, can we confirm the hostel  admission on the same day?

1.What is admission process for International students?

International Admission:-Candidates can apply under international category.  Admission of international students is done via Symbiosis Centre of  International Education (http://scie.ac.in/)

Note: - Registrations will be open on the above given links from 1st December 2019.

2.How are the seats allotted to International students?

First come, first serve basis.

3.How far is the campus from the Airport?

25 KM by car.

4.What are the activities organized for International students?

SCIE organises events from time to time for international and foreign students. Some events take place at institute level.

5.Do we need to be in Pune to get admission?

Not necessarily. The entire process is done online

6.Is there a different Hostel fee for International students?

No. Hostel fees are same for International students and Regular students.

7.What’s the difference between Foreign Nationals and NRI?

Foreign nationals are the ones who are a holder of non-Indian passport. Whereas NRI are Indian passport holders. NRI and Foreign Nationals are both subset of International Students.

8.Which campus/ area is SIT located?

Symbiosis Lavale campus, Pune

9. I have completed my education from other country. ex. O'Level (10 class) from London and A'Level (12 class) from Bangladesh. How should I proceed? 

You can take admission under the category of International students. Contact International office of Symbiosis or Symbiosis Centre for International Education at website http://www.scie.ac.in 

1.How about the placements?

Our first batch passed out in June 2012. Most of the students of the batch (85% of the eligible students) were placed in various renowned companies like  Infosys, Mahindra and Mahindra, Persistent, Kirloskar Brothers Ltd, Synechron, Mu Sigma, Forbes Marshal, Thermo fisher, Sokrati, Bosch, Steria, Pubmatic, Atos, Syntel, Marathon Electric, Symantec, ACT TV, CRF Global and many others. The placements in the following years were also good which has addition of some more renowned companies such as Microsoft, DELL, Amazon ,Rakuten, Veritas, Bombardiar ,IBM, TCS, Decimal Point Analytics, Pitney Bowes etc.

2.How is the Faculty?

We have highly competent faculty. Many faculty members have joined us after completing their Ph.D or fellowship from renowned institutes of the world such as Pennsylvania State University, USA, RMIT Australia, Carnegie Mellon USA and so on.
