ReVERB 2015 Report

After a very successful Reverb 2014, Reverb 2015 was ready to make SIT proud again. This year the theme of Reverb was "Carnival" and we tied up with CRY (Child Rights and You) to contribute a little for child welfare. It was not a one man's effort; it was the effort of the whole Reverb team of students and teachers that made Reverb successful. The title sponsor of Reverb 2015 was JBl and the fest was powered by The Times of India in association with VH1. Right from participating in Happy Streets organized by The Times of India to gaining publicity through Flash Mobs, the students left no stone unturned. The response from the students was overwhelming. It was the first time when we used a little advanced technical support, which was well received by artists and students alike.

The inauguration of Reverb was on 18th February 2015, and was graced by the presence of a Bollywood actor, Mr Amit Purohit, the ambassador of CRY. Day 1 i.e. February 19, 2015 gave us the best singers from the singing competition “Octave" and best dancers from the dancing competition "Footloose". The opening night was by Mumbai based band Daira, who stole our heart by their Bollywood Progressive rock. On Day 2 , February 20, 2015 we had our marquee event "Battle of the Bands" which was judged and headlined by famous metal band "Abraxas". It was followed by "Fashion Show" which was judged by renowned Fashion Choreographer Mr. Sandeep Dharma and Fine Couture Footwear Designer Ms.Nidhi Bhandari. The last day of the fest, 21 February 2015 had events like Mr and Miss SIT where Mr Chirag Barot and Ms.Shalinipriya Singh became Mr and Ms SIT respectively. This was then followed by Clash of SITians where CS-IT department secured the first place. The Best Department trophy was bagged by Electronics and Telecommunication department. The famous event StuPa was also organized on this day. The closing night was by The Dirty Code, a renowned DJ.

The fest was covered by Doordarshan, Akashwani and The Times of India, and the response  was  amazing, even from the students of other colleges. None of it would have been possible without the collective efforts of students, facutly, members of the staff and honourable Director Sir and Deputy Director Sir.
