ReVERB 2011 Report

In continuation with the 75th birth anniversary celebrations of the founder of Symbiosis, and Chancellor, Symbiosis International University, Padmashri  Dr. S.B. Majumdar,  a cultural festival “REVERB “ was organized in Symbiosis Institute of Technology on   16th ,17th and 18th of March 2011. It aimed at bringing out remarkable and unseen talent among the students not only in the cultural activities but also in managing the event.


The onset of the festival was with the inaugural ceremony in the auditorium at the hill top of Lavale campus, where Dr. S.B. Majumdar, was the guest of honour. At the venue, in the morning, after long preparations, students from SIT along with staff members were ready and upbeat, welcoming the Divine Chancellor. He was felicitated by the Director of SIT, Dr. T.P. Singh, with a sword specially crafted in the workshop of SIT, as a token of gratitude for gracing the occasion. He addressed the students and staff of Symbiosis with his insightful inaugural address. After the inauguration a magnificent movie show was organized screening the long and rigorous preparative work done by the students’ of SIT. The inauguration was followed by cultural dance of Maharashtra,”Lavani” and several other cultural events like drama etc, setting the tone for the day.


SIT had a lot of colour and glitter all around reflecting the festive mood and the theme of the event “Streets”. The walls and lanes of the campus were richly colored with graffiti. In addition to this several other ornamental items made the surrounding breathtaking. All the students were elated and enthusiastic about the three daylong event.


Reverb witnessed the participation of various colleges from in and around Pune and showcased about 20 events spread over three days. Each of the participating colleges was at its competitive best.


All three days of the event were equally fun filled. For the first day the event which attracted attention was few minutes to fame and fashion show in which the students participated with gusto. The second day battle of bands drew attention of the crowd wooing the audience with their thunderous and rocking performances. The inter college dance competition was the centre of attraction for the third day which made everybody enjoy thoroughly and dance to the music. The other prominent events in Reverb were singing, creative writing debate, treasure hunt etc.


The fest marked its end by a valedictory function in the amphitheater where the entire team of Dil, Dosti,   Dance from channel [V] D3 was the chief guest. They fascinated the audience with their mind blowing and awesome performances.


Reverb 2011 was a perfect blend of the creativity and managerial skills of the students which was speckled all over the event. With all the successful programs and large participation of the crowds in various activities the event proved to be an astounding one.
